Instructions for Authors

Journal of Exercise Science & Physical Activity Reviews (JESPAR) publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case studies, short communications, letters to the editor, and editorials in all areas of exercise science, sport sciences, and physical activity. Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the online submission system. Only original materials that have not been published elsewhere, in part or entirely, are considered for publication. Manuscripts are accepted in English. JESPAR does not charge submission fees or publication fees.

A signed Copyright Form must be uploaded during submission. All research articles must have ethics committee approval, and scientific and legal responsibility rests with the author(s). After submission, changes in authorship (adding, removing, or reordering authors) are not permitted. Authors are required to provide their ORCID ID during submission (https://orcid.org).

All manuscripts are peer-reviewed through a double-blind process. The evaluation period varies between 1 and 6 months. Manuscripts that do not comply with journal scope, format, or standards may be rejected by the Editor-in-Chief without review.

Types of Articles

- Research Articles: Original contributions to exercise and physical activity sciences.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews or meta-analyses (≤25 pages, including references, figures, and tables).
- Case Studies: Detailed analyses of individuals, interventions, or unique conditions.
- Short Communications: Concise reports of urgent or novel findings (≤5 journal pages).
- Letters to the Editor: Commentary or critical discussion of previously published articles.
- Editorials: Brief, non-peer-reviewed articles written by the editorial team.

Manuscript Preparation
- Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word, with 25-mm margins, double spacing, 12-point Microsoft Sans Serif, single-column format.
- Maximum length: 20 pages.
- All pages should be numbered.
- Sections should be organized as: Title Page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, Conflict of Interest, References, Tables, Figures.

Title Page (submitted separately)
- Paper title, author names, institutional addresses, email addresses, ORCID IDs, corresponding author’s information, and running head.

Abstract
- Word limit: 300 words.
- Should summarize purpose, methods, results, conclusions, and practical applications.

Keywords
- Provide 3–7 keywords in alphabetical order.

Methods
- Describe participants, procedures, and data analyses.
- Include ethics approval details and informed consent.
- Studies involving humans must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki.
- Animal studies must comply with relevant international ethical standards.

Results
- Report findings clearly, without interpretation.

Discussion
- Highlight new findings, implications, and main conclusions.

Acknowledgments
- Mention contributors or funding agencies.

Conflict of Interest
- All financial or material support must be disclosed.
- If none, include the statement: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

References
- References must follow APA 7th edition style.
- Arrange alphabetically by the first author’s surname.
- In-text citations must include author(s) and year (e.g., Smith, 2020; Brown & Lee, 2019).

- Figures should be labeled as Figure, tables as Table.
- Each must include a number and caption.
- Placeholders should be indicated within the text.

Similarity Policy
- The similarity index must be below 15%. Manuscripts exceeding this limit will not be considered.

Publishing Fee
- JESPAR is open access journal. No submission or publication fees are charged.
